Island Hand Therapy Clinic provides assessment and treatment for the upper extremity, primarily below the shoulder. A large portion of our clientele not only require assessment and treatment but also require an orthosis/splint.
Purposes of these devices can include:
Protecting acute injuries or surgeries
Protective positioning to allow early motion
Correcting joint position
Resting inflamed joints or tendons
Stretching out shortened structures



Types of orthoses/splints include:
Splints to stabilize joints for rest and protection
Dynamic splints to restore movement
Working splints to allow function
Splints we provide may be custom made or off-the-shelf
