New Staff

Over the past few months we have had a number of staff changes in the office, and one new therapist.
Visit our "Staff" page to see who is working in which clinic.

Congratulations, Alana

This picture was taken on January 13, 2010, so Lucia was 7 weeks old. She is shown with her sister, Layla and her mom, Alana.

Christmas Party

In late November, the staff of the clinic had a lovely dinner at Romano's Macaroni Grill

New Hand Surgeon

Dr. Anzarut came to Victoria in August 2009. On October 27 he came to an in-service with all the clinic therapists and a few visitors from other treatment facilities in the area. We were able to review his expectations for hand therapy following surgery.

February 2009 Staff In-service

On February 24, 2009, the therapists met to learn more about serial casting. It is a technique used to gradually straighten a stiff bent finger. We were able to practice on each other, succeeding in becoming a little more proficient in the use of plaster.

Staff Meeting and Photoshoot

On Tuesday evening, January 20, 2009, we had a staff meeting in which we discussed the business of the clinic, future events, education, clinic programs, etc. This meeting we had a special feature, in that we had Josh McCulloch, our web site guy/photographer come in and take photographs of every staff member - watch for these on the "Staff" page.

25th Anniversary

On January 31, 1983, Island Hand Therapy Clinic opened its doors for the first time. In November, 2008 we had a dinner to celebrate 25 years, inviting all the past staff that we could contact. We were thrilled to have the two therapists who started the clinic in attendance - Carmie Verdone and Irene Lavers. It was a wonderful evening of memories and celebration.

New Staff

We would like to welcome Tim Dewailly to the clinic. He was a student with us last fall, and is now working as a physiotherapist in the Langford Location.

Certified Hand Therapist

Congratulations, Lil, on achieving the qualification as a Certified Hand Therapist. This is accomplished by writing a comprehensive exam designed to test knowledge about hand therapy.
